This year i am trying a concerted effort to catch Siskin and Redpoll a new 20 port nyger feeder has been set up in a garden in the Dhoon Valley. The same type of feeder is in my garden and at the site in Sulby Glen.
Last year i ringed 181 Siskin, so far this year 101 new Siskin have been ringed already
At the Dhoon site which was started on 23/12/2012 i have ringed 59 new Siskin with 2 retraps from my garden 8 KM away.
31 new Goldfinch have been ringed here as well with a Control and a retrap from Jurby.
At the Sulby site 44 new Siskins have been ringed this year with 2 Lesser Redpoll and 3 Goldfinch.
So these nyger feeders are starting to pay off hopefully we can double our numbers of Siskin caught this year.
A big thank you to the two gardens who are involved in this little project.

Also on the the way to the Dhoon site yesterday i was told by Lez kneale of a Peregrine that was feeding on a Juv Herring gull and had been there for 3 hours. So i stopped off and took a few shots.
