All About Black And Brown Royal Standard Poodles

If you want to learn something about this lovely, long-lived and really popular dog breed, you are on the right place. Beautiful black and brown Royal Standard Poodles are probably among the most popular dog breeds of all, thanks to their beauty and various positive characteristics. Poodles are so graceful, so clever and so noble that most people cannot resist them.

They can also be white, or apricot, or gray, in fact, in any other solid color, and in recent years some breeders accomplished to produce really interesting color combinations. These are not official yet, but look quite originally. In any case, your choice will depend on your taste, as well as your attentions. If you want to get a show dog, black or brown might be a better choice.

These dogs are medium to large sized, with long and flat ears and beautiful dark eyes. They have small, oval-shaped feet and proportional front and back legs. Thanks to the act that poodles shed little to none, they have to be clipped regularly, but it makes them perfect house pets even for the people that suffer from different allergies. Of course, this dog cannot be kept outside, they need a proper place to live.

Their corded or curly coats require regular care, and every six to eight weeks have to be clipped. You can choose your favorite clipping style, but if you have a show dog, you will probably choose one variation of English saddle type of clipping, or so called Continental clip. Sometimes some types are more popular than others, but these are mostly required on dog shows.

Poodles have really good nature, calm and friendly. They belong to lower energy dogs, but they still need some amount of activity to remain healthy and happy. One walk a day is all they ask, and they will be satisfied. On the other hand, if you do not give them that simple daily walk, you might expect different behavior issues. They do not appreciate being left alone for long time either.

This is certainly the long lived breed, 12-15 years in average, but prone to several genetic diseases. Their eyes and ears are especially vulnerable. Their ears need to be checked for wax or mites regularly, and their eyes need special care as well. They might have running eyes, cataract and similar eye issues, and regular vet checks are necessary.

Their delicate skin may be quite sensitive and prone to skin allergies, especially if you use non-adequate shampoos. Regular baths are required, and you should consider acquiring some good quality shampoo for your pet. Poodles are also prone to bloat, but hat can be avoided if you divide food into several smaller meals. Make sure to provide good quality food as well.

There are several good reasons for choosing the poodle for your pet. This dog lives longer, behaves better and is more intelligent than most other dog breeds. In fact, this is one of the most trainable breeds, and it is also really calm and friendly, excellent with children and friendly to other animals. Gentle and noble, this dog will be a really good friend for you and your family members in years to come.
