Learners look for trainers that can focus on their individual goals. Even in a class of many people, they should understand that people are different and so are their needs. Whereas some are joining the academy to remind themselves of some concepts they forgot, others are there for the first time. The attention given to the beginners should therefore not be the same as the one given to the others.

The instructor should have the ability to build a good relationship with his learners. It is easier to understand something if you interact well with the person explaining it. The students can give him maximum attention as they have no grudges or negative attitude towards their teacher. The learner should look forward to their lessons and not feel dreaded by them.

The method in which any message is understood depends on the sender. Sometimes it could be misunderstood, and other times the receiver may not get the hint at all. The same case applies to horse riding. The instructor has to have good communication skills for his learners to understand all the instructions he gives to them. He should be a good listener too.

A good instructor is flexible. Even though they should stick to the class schedule, there comes a time when they have to change a bit for the sake of the learners. A learner may be feeling discouraged, and they may not be in the mood to earn anything. The teacher should come up with ideas and techniques that will make his subject excited and gain back his interest in the classes.

In horse riding classes, patience is a virtue that every trainer should have. Students have different trainee have different levels of understanding and in case of beginners, repeating the same thing for many times should be expected. Expecting your students to be perfect in a short time might make you disappointed as it rarely happens. Each step requires enough time to be fully mastered.

No matter how impressive the training is, there comes a time when some techniques seem too hard for the trainees. At this time they will feel down and start thinking they cannot do it. It is the work of their instructor to motivate them by letting them know that being perfect is not an instance occurrence. Giving examples of successful riders that had struggled with their training will act as a word of encouragement.

Researching and reading horse riding magazines helps one to get information of what is happening in the field. Joining social platforms of fellow trainers is also a good way to learn as ideas are shared, and sometimes corrections are made, and this helps in enhancing careers.
