Forgive and forget is unheard of in this life. Therapy, however, teaches you to forgive your partner and move on. It is like learning a whole new way of life. You learn to be understanding and forgiveness comes naturally to you. You will actually even be healthier since you no longer stress on things that happened to you in the past.
