What Makes The Kind Of Santa Claus Charlotte NC Kids Are Excited To See

By Edward Thomas

Kids look forward to the start of Christmas season. That means it won't be long before they get a visit from their favorite man in red. For many their first encounter with the jolly old elf is at the mall or the family Christmas party. Most kids remember these encounters with a great deal of fondness, and eventually pass the traditions on to their children. That's why it's so important to be the kind of Santa Claus Charlotte NC kids imagine.

There are certain rules all Santas need to follow. The first is never to assume that little kids have undeveloped brains. Do not underestimate little kids, no matter their age. Not only are kids smart, they notice everything. They listen to the things you say and will be very quick to point out the discrepancies in your spiel and what their understanding is of what the real Santa says and does.

Stepping out of character, even for a minute, will get you in trouble. Santas aren't smokers. They aren't drinkers, and they don't have foul mouths. If you really believe you can get away with sneaking a smoke during a break, you will quickly find out otherwise. Kids have noses that smell out whiffs of smoke and the scent of alcohol. They might not be able to tell exactly what the problem is, but they will be able to tell that you are not for real.

You have to look authentic because kids will notice if you don't. You need to spend the money on a decent suit, beard, and boots. Kids will quickly point out the elastic that's holding your beard in place if it is at all noticeable.

They'll point out even the smallest wisp of natural hair peeking out of your wig too. Dads, who get enlisted to play Santas, have to be sure to take off their watches and wedding rings. Otherwise their eagle-eyed kids will realize who they really are in a split second.

You must be ready with answers for every imaginable kind of question. Kids will ask you how you got so fat, how you travel around the globe in just one night, and where you park your reindeer. If you hesitate, or seem unsure, you will be immediately suspicious in the eyes of the children. Kids are pretty accepting. If won't really matter how you answer the question, just as long as you do it with confidence and speed.

If you're hired to perform at a private party, coordinate with the parents before you get there. If the party is small, ask the parents the children's names and something about each of them. The kids will love the fact that you know who they are. It won't matter if you are reading from your Santa's list. That should make perfect sense to them.

You want to come and go by yourself at family parties. That way you can make a grand entrance and get the party going. Even if you decline the offer to exit through the chimney, you can excite the kids by jingling your reindeer bells on the way out.
