More Twite news

More news from Dave Sowter, 2 Twite ringed at Flyflats {Warley Moor Reservoir, Halifax} in spring 2008 by me, have been seen down at Dingle Marshes on the beach near Wableswick, Suffolk. Also one of the oldest Twite ringed at Cant Clough between July and December 2003 has been seen . The fact that it is still alive means that it is at least five years old and makes it one of the oldest known surviving Twite. The BTO web site suggests that the oldest is 4 year old. However there have now been several sighting and one capture of a bird ringed at the Duddon Estuary in 2003 when it was already an adult - at least 5 years old when it was caught in this autumn (2008) this November.
thanks to Mr Hugh Venables who spotted these birds Its one thing putting cr-rings on but we need people who take the time to report sightings. all sightings of Colour ringed Twite can be entered on line at
