Tips On Finding The Right Siberian Cat Breeder

By Sandra Sanders

There are many benefits to having pets at home. Fun, loving and can greatly help manage stress, cats are perfect pets. While some people can manage with just having one others need to have many of these furry angels at their home. Cats in particular are just great companions because they are small and it is super easy to potty train them.

For those that prefer the least maintenance and training, cats may be a good idea. That is if you are a cat person. One of the cutest and sweetest breed out there are Siberian cats which makes them perfect for families. The biggest advantage that they have over other types is how they work well with children and people with allergies. Finding the right one means finding a good Siberian cat breeder.

Looking for the right breeder that sells these babies can be a bit difficult. A little research would go a long way before you go an decide on one breeder right away. Their reputation amongst others in their industry should be good, and this also includes the vets in the area. There should be a close knit cat society in your area.

Once you have made a list of these people, knowing their reputation and picking out which ones have a bad name should be easy. It helps a lot when these people also have websites where pictures of their kittens may be shown. This also offers a great avenue for others who have been their customers to give out reviews.

Also check if the person is registered. This will guarantee that the cat you will get is healthy and in a great condition. This is the perfect way to determine and assure that your pet is purebred. Most breeders go through quite a process to mate their felines with the right pair. This can take them weeks or even months to find. Plus, certificates and check ups are needed for this to happen.

See if you can visit the place where the kittens are being kept. Seeing what the place looks like allows you to assess how well the breeder keeps the environment cat friendly and if they do know what they are doing. Also check for any weird fecal and urine stenches.

Kitten mills in particular are bad. While they may produce many felines for you to choose from, the chances of these creatures being taken cared of well are slim. If the breeder that you are considering to buy from hesitates and would not let you visit this maybe be because the place is not exactly conducive for the animals.

There is a rule that cats should not be taken away from their parents before 10 weeks since they were born. So it would be best to do some research regarding the size that these kittens can come in. Siberian cats are bigger than most so if you do not know how big they should be by 10 weeks, you may be fooled into thinking that it would already be okay to take them.

Ask well constructed questions. The breeder should also show concern about who will be getting their kittens. A good sign is if they, in turn are also evaluating you. The more knowledgeable they are, the better. An honest one would not hesitate about telling you the disadvantages and congenital downsides of a certain feline that you picked.
