By Mark Kelly

Siberian cats are really interesting, and are quite different than other cats. First, they love water, actually, they are quite fascinated by water and can spend hours watching your kitchen tap dripping. Even people who don't really appreciate cats instantly fall in love with these amazing animals. So, once you learn more about them, you will maybe want to find Siberian cat and kittens for sale.

Beautiful as they are, these cats would be popular anyway. But, considering their high intelligence and gentle nature, friendliness and other great characteristics, it's no wonder they are so loved and appreciated all over the world. Unlike other cats, they love water, love to play fetch, they are easy trainable and really friendly and polite. Just perfect family pets, by all means.

When it comes to a size, Siberians are quite large, compared to domestic cats. Another interesting thing is that males are significantly larger than females, and females are also much lighter. They are, of course, equally beautiful and especially charming animals, clever and, at least when it comes to their character, more like dogs than like cats.

Large variety of colors and beautiful nuances make your choice really hard. These lovely cats come in appealing nuances of warm cinnamon, chocolate and caramel, and other popular color varieties are called bicolor, tricolor, Tabby and color pointed. The later, as well as white patterned, should have blue eyes, while other color varieties may have eyes in any other color.

This is a very old breed, you could say it's ancient. There is one large area in Russia, called Siberia, cold and not very friendly. These cats used to live there, and were unknown for centuries. They became quite popular maybe one hundred and fifty years ago, and today are highly appreciated and loved all over the world. Beside their lovely appearance, the main reason for this popularity is their gentle nature and playfulness.

Considering the coat quality, grooming will take some time. The coat has to be brushed regularly, to avoid tangling. Twice a year, Siberians change their hair, and more frequent brushing might be a good idea. You should also check the ears for wax. If this wax is not removed, it might cause the infection. Other than that, you won't have to worry about your cat's health, because Siberians are really healthy animals.

Feeding is quite simple, if you buy really good quality cat food full of required nutrients. They will appreciate if you follow the schedule and feed them always at the same time of the day. Young kittens should get the same food they are used to, to avoid digestion problems. If you want to change their food, you have to do this little by little, to give them a chance to adapt.

You won't have any problems with your cat's health, but finding a good vet is always a good idea. Anyway, the breeder should issue a certificate that none of your pet's parents had any genetic diseases. Considering the price, the breeder should be more than willing to do so. Your kitten will become adult as five years old, and this really is unusual for cats. Have a great time with your new member of a family.
