The Shady Truth About Tulips

By Jeffrey Myers

Man believes itself to have dominion over the natural world. This belief has driven man both to serve as the stewards of nature and the destroyers of it. As the destroyers, man has destroyed forests of trees. As the stewards, man has cultivated and raised many other types of plants. One such example of these plants are Siam tulips.

A Siam tulip is a flower. Generally speaking, the stem is quite long. The bulb, the thing that most people think of as the main part of the flower, comes in differing shades of pink and red. On some occasions, the bulb can even present as brown. It should be noted that it is not in fact a tulip and is in fact a type of ginger.

Throughout the course of human history, plants have played a role in human culture and mythology. Some mythologies depict a person being born from the bud of a flower. Some religions may involve spell craft, which may or may not work, and plants are usually an important ingredient for casting certain spells and mixing certain potions.

Some people like to grow plant life as a hobby, something to do to pass the time. Others garden as therapy. But some people grow plant life, either as a wholesaler or to sell at a retail outlet. Whatever the reason, millions of people all over the planet roll up their sleeves every day and get to gardening.

A bouquet is tradition for human celebration. When beauty queen wins a pageant, they are generally given a crown, a sash, and a bouquet. When people celebrate occasions, a bouquet is often given to the celebrant or the guest of honor.

Flowers are romantic, or at least some types of them are. During courtship, one partner will present the other with a bouquet, especially during the first date. Sometimes, the present is not a bouquet but a corsage to be worn on the wrist, this practice is especially prominent among teenagers. But the beginning of a relationship is not the only time a person can present their partner with plant life as a gift. In fact, a person can present their partner with plant life as a gift for no reason whatsoever. A person can also give flora as a present in order to issue an apology, and the more elaborate the arrangement, the more grievous the wrong.

But people do not just use plants for apologies and celebrations. People also use plant life to decorate the home. The right flora can make a home more beautiful, it can make a home feel like a home. It can also make a space more comfortable, as foliage can help regulate temperature in a home and make it easier to breathe, as vegetation produces oxygen, a vital component in the air that people breathe.

Flowers also smell good. A perfumer uses floral scents when concocting scents. People like to be in areas that smell good.

Man has dominion over the world, or at least believes that it does. But the simple truth of the matter is that the dominion of man has created a symbiotic relationship with nature. Some parts of nature need man to curb its more destructive impulses in order to preserve parts of it and humankind needs the natural world need the animals and plants provided for foodstuffs.
