Moving It For Pet Friendly Apartment Rentals

By Arthur Anderson

Trying to find an apartment is time consuming enough, what with all the energy involved in the process. The hassle is double if you are moving with a pet. Finding a place for you both is a tougher job.

There is so much more to getting things done when you are moving with a dog. And there is more to finding pet friendly apartment rentals than just bringing it to your future home. It can be very tiring and frustrating too, when you get refused by landlords and the management too many times because of your cat or dog.

Give it enough time. You cannot just decide to move right then and there without planning. Check postings and ads on apartment or a place to rent for both of you. Make use of resources like any society or group who dedicate themselves helping pet owners.

Believe that you can, and you will this over with. Understand your potential landlords when they decide to decline you and your dog even though you are willing to pay more than the ordinary tenant. That is just the way it is sometimes. They may have had a bad experience with other tenants who were pet owners before.

Make a resume for your cat or dog. Yes, a CV for them is good. Like behavior trainings, vaccination records and other documents that may be of help. Show pictures to the owner of the apartment. Show your it but try not too sound as if you are trying to upsell it. Be honest and keep it professional.

Do not feel too pressured. There are a lot of pet friendly rental properties in each city and state in the country, like Palm Springs California. Prepare your documents for this, because you would need to show some paperwork including but not limited to records of the vaccinations and trainings of your dog. Reference from your current or previous landlord can be of big help too.

Be open and flexible about potentially getting a place of rental for you and your pet. Do not be too choosy. You cannot expect too much when trying to find a place that will accept your cat or dog. By following this, you continue to be a responsible owner.

Offer to pay some price higher than other tenants, as you should. It will then be easier to get the approval of the management. Let them see the dog for themselves for assurance. Let them check its vaccination records and other helpful reference documents. Do not push it. Know when a no is a no.

Keep it real and honest. Do not attempt to work your way through getting a place without telling the landlord you have a dog. You will risk its health and it will not be comfortable or wise for you anyway, when you have to sneak your pet in and out. Trust yourself. You will get yourself to the right rental apartment. Just keep an open mind, and you will make it.
