Doing this is the surest way of avoiding being a scam victim or ending up with the wrong breed.

It is also important to make all purchases from a licensed and certified breeder. As such, one should request to see the certificates of registration and license to operate within the country. If not possible, then one can have copies of these certificates sent to them through email or other means.

Before making payment, one should ensure that the company has a physical address. This is a good way to differentiate fraudsters from authentic businesses. An authentic business will usually have a physical address where customers can visit and receive service. On the other hand, fraudsters usually avoid anything as permanent as a physical address.

The last step one can take to avoid falling victim to scamming and fraudsters is to ensure they make all payments to the breeder through debit/credit cards. Apart from using debit/credit cards to make payments, one can also use other payment methods that make it easy to trace the recipient of the money sent. One should avoid making a cash transaction when acquiring a puppy.
